Description Do you like Computers? And People Too? Do you like helping people who are new to computers and who want to learn about the internet? The Cyber Center needs personable, computer-savvy people to help give free/inexpensive computer access to members of the public!

Volunteers Needed Open
Activity Location CyberCenter
Volunteer Requirements • Photo ID, resume and personal references
• Good communication/ people skills
• Ability to surf the web
• Ability to download from the internet
• Familiarity with E mail including Hotmail/Yahoo
• Familiarity with using a word processor, printer and fax
• Ability to burn CDs
Specific Duties • Sign visitors in and out
• Manage the cash box
• Assist visitors in the use of computers for checking e mail, composing and printing documents and surfing the internet
Training Requirements All volunteers must first attend the Center’s volunteer orientation before applying for the CyberCenter. Applicants will be asked to attend a brief one-on-one meeting with the Program Coordinator and the IT manager. Those selected must attend a one-time CyberCenter training and shadow one of our Team Leaders for one shift before being eligible to be added to the schedule.

Volunteers must commit to at least one 3-hour shift per week for four months. At the end of four months, shifts can be renewed for the next four month period by mutual consent.
